Allan Sherman was born in Chicago on September 16, 1928, to Bernard Sherman and Eleanor
Goldblatt. He passed away on January 3, 1981, at the age of 52.
He enlisted in the US Army during the Korean War on April 18, 1952. He was honorably discharged
in 1954. His rank was Corporal.
A native of Chicago, he had been a Brownsville resident for three years before he died. He was a
member of Temple Beth El and B’nai B’rith. Allan established a deli in the Amigoland Shopping
Center of Brownsville.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Wolff Sherman of Brownsville; two sons, Scott B. Sherman of
Brownsville, and Michael Jeffrey Sherman of Hollanddale, Fla.
